Apple Company Refused E.U. Order to Pay Up to 13 billion Euro in Back Taxes to Ireland

13 billion Euro penalty for Apple Company


In August 2016,E.U.claimed Ireland Government to levy the back taxes from Apple Company. Sum of the back taxes is 13 billion Euro that is from year 2003 to year 2014. And Jan. 3 2017 is the deadline of paying penalty. However, Apple Company didn't pay up to 13 billion Euro in back taxes to Ireland. Apple Company has refused the order of E.U.


Apple reacts to E.U. penalty order


13 billion Euro is a huge penalty. Facing such huge penalty, Apple Company was very discontented and then protested. The same with Apple Company, Ireland Government was also dissatisfied the order and didn't want the penalty.


E.U.claimed Ireland Government to levy the back taxes from Apple Company


This year, Jan. 3 2017, is the deadline of order of E.U..However, Apple Company refused the order of E.U. that pays up to 13 billion Euro in back taxes to Ireland. The consequence is, in the worst condition, Apple Company will have to pay 1.5 billion Euro of interest. And in that way, the sun of penalty will become 14.5 billion Euro.
